Meet the Four Restaurant Concepts that Will Occupy Galley - Bakery Square
From burgers to baked goods - there will be something for every taste bud!
Pittsburgh, PA: Galley Group introduces the four restaurant concepts that are ready to reside in their East Liberty location, Galley - Bakery Square, upon its opening in May 2021 - GG’s Café, Somi, City Fresh Pasta and Bubba’s.
“GG’s Café is a new take on classic comfort foods. Wholesome dishes with global inspirations and a hometown feel,” says Meredith and Christine Galloway. The Galloway Girls grew up in the neighborhood and have recently relocated back to Pittsburgh after being away for 10+ years. GG’s Café is looking forward to introducing their guests to their Roasted Chicken and Ribs. “We have a beautiful and delicious menu to share and our roasted chicken dinners and rib meals are the highlight and backbone of the menu.”
Somi, which is focused on “delivering healthy, beautiful, nutrient dense, progressive Asian cuisine to the East End” is well-versed with the Galley already. Hoa Le, who resides in the East End with her fiancé Nick, currently runs and operates Shaka in Federal Galley. Somi’s key regional flavor influences will include Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, and Hawaiian cuisine. Guests can look forward to dishes like Shoyu Ahi Tuna & Microgreen which has a custom grown blend of micro greens (crunchy beans, speckled peas, sunflowers, and red radishes).
City Fresh Pasta is already known in the area for their delicious dishes from their food truck but now you can look forward to them in Bakery Square. Their concept is to serve people food that is “elegant but not intimidating with fresh ingredients and careful preparation. We hand make just about everything, every day,” says Eric Earnest. One of the dishes that Eric is excited to showcase to guests is their Buffalo chicken cheddar gnocchi which is a customer favorite. They have been serving the Pittsburgh area for over eight years now and are looking forward to being part of the neighborhood.
Bubba’s vows to serve you the “best burgher you have ever eaten,” says Bubba Snider. The secret to their delicious burgers involves a blend of Prime New York Strip, Ribeye, Sirloin, and Brisket which is aged at least 28 days and ground fresh daily. Snider grew up in Greenfield so opening a location inside Galley - Bakery Square feels like coming home to him. Snider loves creating delicious food and is excited to be working alongside Chef Christina St. Clair. Everything Bubba’s plans on serving will be the highest quality at a fair price.

The developer behind the growing Bakery Square campus, they purchased the then abandoned Nabisco Bakery plant in 2007 and created a sustainable, mixed-use development home to some of Pittsburgh’s top employers (Google, UPMC, Carnegie Mellon, University of Pittsburgh, etc.) and high quality retail tenants (Starbucks, West Elm, Anthropologie etc.). The Bakery Square campus now includes three office buildings, two residential apartment complexes, for sale townhomes and continues to evolve with the “Bakery Refresh” renovation plans.
